To the opinion sent in by Ms Crowe from New Hampshire with her pleading the folks from Massachusetts to stay home, I’d suggest you think a bit more of what you are asking.
I live in Tyngsboro, so crossing into Nashua or Hudson doesn’t even come to mind as I am crossing into New Hampshire. We travel freely between the states and I would argue that Massachusetts border folks spend more of their money in New Hampshire than Massachusetts.
These myopic thoughts have never come from New Hampshire folks when we are renting cottages at Hampton, buying lunch in Salem, or paying property taxes on a summer home. These things are all good for everyone but the writer suggests that we are disease carriers or something and are not wanted in New Hampshire.
What a bizarre view. Should we in Massachusetts reciprocate and tell the tens of thousands of New Hampshire folks that descend on our state each day for employment to stay away?
I never thought of uttering these words; “people from New Hampshire – stay home.”
I went to my second home in New Hampshire over the weekend, bought gas, spent money at Shaw’s and left the state as I came with no problems.
I would rethink your selfish standpoint.
Aren’t we all in this together?
