Christopher Nolan's latest mind-melter Tenet has inspired many fan theories, and Digital Spy readers think one of them is the real deal.

Earlier this month, we asked you to vote whether or not Robert Pattinson's mysterious character Neil was in fact the future version of Sator and Kat's son Max (played by youngster Laurie Shepherd in the film).

Well, the votes have now been counted and 65% of you decided that that is his true identity.

Still not convinced? You can read more about the theory here.

Elsewhere, the director previously discussed how Tenet connects to his other films.

"People who know my earlier work will recognise some of the tropes, like the bullet coming out of the wall and back into the gun," he told Digital Spy and other media. "It's something that's portrayed metaphorically in Memento, but here we try to make it concrete and a real thing.

"This particular script and the idea of taking the spy genre and really trying to use it as a vehicle for taking the audience on this journey through all these bizarre concepts of time, I've been working on that for six or seven years in specific terms."

Explaining the puzzle-solving that went into pre-production on Tenet, Nolan also shared: "That period was spent trying to reconcile the peculiarities of construction that were required in the script to explain and embrace the concept of time with the relatively straightforward experience for the audience of being on a ride."

Tenet is out now in cinemas.
