Kiz: Has it really come to this, Broncos Country? The state of the team is so sad we’re trying to decide whether Fangio or Joseph is a lousier coach? OK, Joseph got fired with a record of 11-21. Fangio is a tick better at 15-24. Had Denver given the reigns back to Mike Shanahan in 2018, would things really be markedly better? Well, in a quarterback-driven league, it might be wiser for your head coach’s strengths to be on the offensive side of the ball. Now. And in the future.

Kiz: Elway engineered “The Drive” way back in January 1987, leading the Broncos’ to a 23-20 comeback victory in the AFC championship game on the road. How devastating was that defeat to Cleveland? I would suggest Elway contributed to driving the Browns out of town. Franchise owner Art Modell betrayed loyal fans by moving his team to Baltimore in the mid-1990s. I know the Dawg Pound has never forgiven Elway. A generation after breaking the heart of the city, Elway walked on the field Thursday in Cleveland. And my spies tell me that still-bitter fans let Old No. 7 know his presence was definitely not appreciated.
I’d rather see a Drew Lock interception than a Teddy Bridgewater interception. At least with Lock, it’s a little more exciting.

Kiz: Give Lock a chance? Don’t count on it. Uncle Vic gives every indication that so long as Bridgewater is healthy enough to trot on the field, Lock won’t get off the bench.
