Fresh from its collaboration with retaW comes another automotive-centric drop from Period Correct, this time around working with Hot Wheels on two model cars and a small clothing capsule.
Period Correct is paying homage to the World Rally Championship in the ’80s, a time when Group B cars were ferociously fast and untamed. Loosely homologated cars would rip around courses in 13 countries, tackling all kinds of weather and terrain conditions at death-defying speeds, and it was truly the golden era of motorsports.
In honor of this, Period Correct and Hot Wheels have recreated two stars of Group B rallying: the Ford RS200 and the Lancia 037. Both models have been given a new Period Correct livery in the style of something fittingly ’80s, and they also act as the inspiration for the clothes.
In the capsule, Period Correct has made T-shirts with 037 and RS200 branding on the rear alongside information about each car, such as its engine, dimensions and weight, and transmission. Elsewhere, we see hoodies, and the star of the show, a khaki green coat with a kangaroo pocket that’s adorned with RS200 and rally sports motifs.
