WARNING: The following contains spoilers for WandaVision Episode 8, "Previously On," streaming now on Disney+.

Certain WandaVision fan theories may yet prove to be accurate, according to director Matt Shakman.

“We build this show with so much love and passion and care and attention to detail, and you just cannot understand how appreciative we are that the fans have embraced it with that much love and passion and attention to detail and theories, which are incredible,” Shakman told TV Line. “And I know there will be a lot of disappointed people with some theories and some who will feel very smart, but you can’t please everybody, obviously. But I hope folks enjoy the ride.”

There are plenty of unresolved issues heading into WandaVision's Season 1 finale: including, the identity of Monica Rambeau's aerospace engineer pal, who many viewers believe will prove to be either Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic or Adam Bernard Brashear/Blue Marvel; what S.W.O.R.D.'s Acting Director Tyler Hayward hopes to achieve by creating White Vision; whether "Fake Pietro", AKA "Fietro," really is Quicksilver from another Marvel universe; and how will the looming showdown between Wanda and Agatha Harkness play out. In the end, of course, there can only be a single correct answer to any one of these questions, in spite of all the different theories -- many of which are incredibly detailed, as Shakman pointed out -- fans have come up with so far.

When it comes to Wanda and Agatha, Shakman indicated the pair may yet find a way to work together, rather than against one another. “I think both Agatha and Wanda can learn from each other. Certainly, at the very end of Episode 8, Wanda is learning a very big piece of information about herself from Agatha, and Agatha is trying to figure out the secret of what Wanda has so that whole episode is an exploration of who is Wanda Maximoff is,” Shakman noted. “We look at her past because we want to figure out what her future is.”

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
