Tom Brady knows his numbers.
Whether it's his seven championship rings, 581 touchdowns or the number on his back, Brady is very, very familiar with numbers. That might explain why TB12 isn't a fan of the NFL's new number rules.
Less than 24 hours after the league announced a relaxed bracket on number rules for position groups, Brady took to Instagram to point out his dissatisfaction with the change.
"Good luck trying to block the right people now !! !!," Brady wrote on his Instagram story. "going to make for a lot of bad football"

"DUMB," Brady said. "Why not Let the lineman wear whatever they want? Why have numbers? Just have colored jerseys...why not wear the same number?...DUMB @nfl @nflpa"
Brady has something of a point: With linebackers and defensive backs allowed to wear single digits and more now, the confusion for the offensive line might be an extra step to figure out before the snap.
While defensive linemen numbers are staying the same, figuring out which linebackers and DBs to block without being in a confined number bracket could make things a little harder for the offense.
Then again, pointing at a player and his number shouldn't change things too drastically, especially for a team with the single greatest quarterback in NFL history. Or any team with linemen with half a brain for that matter.
Listen, as long as 52 is still the Mike, then we should all get through this just fine.
