A letter printed on this page on Aug. 9 caught me off guard. The claim that President Donald Trump was hollow and soulless led me to believe we had been visited by an omniscient power. I know some on the left believe God is a woman, but, Linda Cheffet? Really? Her judgmental allegations and accusations were appalling.
Cheffet used the fact Trump did not attend Congressmen John Lewis’s funeral to fan the flames of division. Like with Senator John McCain, Trump and Lewis had differing political views. He did not attend McCain’s services and I assume he was not invited to Lewis’s. Maybe Cheffet has inside information to the contrary she’d like to share.
Her letter praised Obama’s self-serving speech for zeroing in on Trump supporters who, “relish in hate and racism.” She hurled accusations of shameful voter suppression. She must not realize it’s the Democratic Party that has suppressed the vote throughout history.
The accuser in this letter should be looking at her alternative, Joe Biden. He has made demeaning racial remarks to black announcers on numerous occasions. According to declassified documents there was spying on the Trump campaign at the highest levels of the Obama/Biden administration. So is the outrage really about Trump or is it about causing division and chaos to gain power and control?
Time for a little pushback. Time to speak up. Time to stand up for the Red, White and Blue!
