Well, here we are again— and yes, you (apparently still) can’t “shelter” stupid… just look at what has happened to these guys and gals…
Some Odds & Ends
In Fort Myers, Florida, residents have come up with a unique solution to an old problem… the pothole…
In Dublin, Ireland, a young boy received a gift from his grandparents upon his First Communion… they tied a crisp €100 note to a gold-colored balloon… but when he untied the bow…
In Houston, Texas, an air conditioning technician was changing the filters in the attic at a Comerica Bank here… when he came face to face with… well, something he surely wasn’t expecting…
And now for the main “events”:
In Slidell, Louisiana, Arthur Bates, Jr., 47, called 911 around 4:00 p.m. local time to report he was injured… more specifically, that he had been hit by a car in a gas station parking lot… after which the driver took off… Arthur was complaining of back, leg and neck injuries, so an ambulance and fire truck were called to the scene… unfortunately for Arthur, there was video…
In Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Marina Verbitsky, 46, her husband and child were blocked from boarding a plane to Chicago… because they arrived late at the gate… so she proceeded to curse three JetBlue employees… and then she did this…
In Dunedin, Florida, Myles Abbott, 18, was engaged in an armed stand-off with police… that had him on a roof in the six-hour standoff… Enter Jessica Elisabeth Smith, 28, of Boston, Massachusetts… who drove a golf cart onto the scene… and past several marked sheriff’s office vehicles… but it was her attire that really drew attention…
In Edwardsville, Illinois, around 4:30 pm one recent afternoon… three women went into Hibbett’s Sporting Goods… one of the store employees thought one of the women looked familiar… someone who had stolen from the store in the past… and he called police… timely, as the women exited the store with a handful of clothes… and ran to a vehicle parked nearby… but then, there’s getting to the vehicle… and, well… see for yourself…
And finally, in Sterling Heights, Michigan, an unnamed driver ran a red light here about 5:30 am… causing a garbage truck to swerve… but not quick enough to avoid hitting the car… and “careening” through the median… crossing northbound lanes (without hitting any other vehicles)… before crashing into a building… that was unoccupied… on the other side… but when officials arrived to investigate the damaged building, they found…
Have a GREAT weekend, folks! Hope to see many of you in Vegas next week—for the NAPA 401(k) Summit!
