TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health said Monday evening that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported the wrong numbers for the state.

The CDC combined multiples days into Monday’s update, according to state health officials.

The Florida Department of Health originally reported its own data before switching to weekly COVID-19 case reports. Now, the department sends its daily COVID-19 data to the CDC.

Governor Ron DeSantis’ office confirmed the total of new cases for the following days:

  1. Friday, August 6: 21,500
  2. Saturday, August 7: 19,567
  3. Sunday, August 8: 15,319
