Reallocate funds
I feel badly for our Afghan service people, many of whom sacrificed their lives. Likewise, many Afghan people — especially women — will suffer because of our withdrawal. But I’m pleased no more American lives will be lost. My personal feeling is that both Trump and Biden were correct in their decision to withdraw. Afghanistan is ungovernable and neither Russia before us, or the Chinese after us, is going to change that. It is my hope that the money we are not spending in Afghanistan will be spent on programs at home.
I don’t think we can survive
Leave it to Biden and company to create another crisis. He dreamed up the Afghanistan mess to take the news off of the border mess. All he is doing is creating havoc with our country. I don’t think we can survive four years of “Biden and Company.”
Biden is right
Biden is right to get out of Afghanistan. Why did our generals talk the last two presidents out of leaving? Why did the Afghan government and army fall so quickly, and mostly peacefully? The U.S. seems to have been the only thing holding up a most likely corrupt government that apparently most Afghans didn’t support. I hope that any good the U.S. did over 20 years will benefit the Afghan people going forward.
Just walking through
The Democrats had better close the borders that “welcome” the immigrants from other countries. These people are just walking through, and are settled in our country. Who knows who they are and what is their mission, especially in light of Biden’s mess in Afghanistan.
Mothers cannot handle the children
People are asking, why are there so many carjackings? The answer is, the children are being raised with no male family support and turning into criminals. The mothers cannot handle the children, and therefore they run amok.
Let’s take a stand
A white cop gunned down. Her partner forever injured, again gunned down. For both, their crime was being white cops. A White Sox fan returning from a night game gunned down on the Dan Ryan. Her crime? Being white. Let’s take a stand.
Let’s fight it together
To the person reminding us we live in a free country regarding whether to get COVID-19 vaccinations: Their entry begs me to ask, would you fight a war without a weapon? Yet the people who refuse to wear a mask or get vaccinated are doing just that. This is a health crisis. People are dying in this war against COVID-19. Just to be clear, the government and health officials aren’t fueling this health emergency. The unmasked, unvaccinated people are. Why is this so difficult to understand? Despite being fully vaccinated, I’m still a prisoner in my own home due to health issues and encountering many unmasked people on the rare occasion I do go out. When did we, as Americans, stop caring about our fellow man, boasting about your rights and freedoms while stomping on mine? There’s something seriously wrong with this picture. Like it or not, the real enemy is COVID-19. Let’s fight it together with weapons that work.
Explain that
“Talk of the County” is perfectly fine. It’s just unscripted talk on any subject. Like that billboard on the north side of Route 173, just east of Route 83 in Antioch. The guy in the dinner jacket who says “I don’t always floss but when I do, I have an appointment in 20 minutes.” It’s creepy. Could someone explain that?
Why so many?
This is a question, or something to think about. I don’t know if this has been expressed before. Why are there three different variants of the COVID shot? Why three different results? If our government is really caring for us, why three different vaccines and companies? Money and politics. What do you think?
